About the author

Hello and welcome to School House Wonk.  I’m Beth Sigall, and I’ve been involved in public education for the past ten years.  I am an education policy advisor at the state and local level here in Washington state.  Previously I practiced law as a special education attorney, representing parents and their children with special needs.  I also advocate for foster children in the Dependency Court system.  I’m the mother of three wonderful children, ages 13,11 and 6.  I started this blog as a way to discuss what works in public education, based on my experiences and those of the families I help.  I am looking forward to sharing these ideas with you.
